French Drains

St Louis Drainage Solutions has installed hundreds of French Drains in the St Louis metropolitan area for residential and commercial customers.

Pictured left shows the construction of a French Drain to help resolve a ground water problem. After contacting Dig-Rite and trenching the the drain line, we first install clean rock into the bottom of the trenched area. This is followed by placing a perforated ( holes drilled into the pipe for water to drain ) PVC drain pipe wrapped in a drain cloth. Additional clean rock is added which allows water to seep into the drain pipe and carried to a discharge location. Not shown, top soil is then being placed over the drain system where grass can grow while keeping the surrounding area dry.

French drains will help to eliminate areas of standing water which could be a breading ground for mosquitoes.
